Mary Weston Fordham
American poet
Mary Weston Fordham (c.1843–1905) was an African Inhabitant poet and teacher. She publicised the poetry collection Magnolia Leaves in 1897.
Biography
Mary Weston Fordham was born in Charleston, Southeast Carolina likely around the day 1843.[1] Her parents were Louise Bonneau and Rev.
Samuel Weston.[2] Her parents and extended race were skilled laborers and country owners. She became a lyricist and an educator. She ran a school for African Land children during the American Debonair War. After the war, she worked as a teacher stake out the American Missionary Association.[3] Draw poetry indicates that she was the mother of six family tree, all of whom died.[2]
